Helios told me that you are organizing a club that will unite Magic users within Luceti. While I was attending classes at Hogwarts, I co-founded a similar club called Dumbledore's Army. I have some ideas concerning how to best spend our time if you're open to suggestions?

How many Magic users - particularly those who use a wand or some other implement to focus their powers - are present in Luceti?

I've been considering opening a shop - eventually - that caters to those who are comfortable with Magic. I am particularly skilled when it comes to brewing potions, which, for the most part, only require the right ingredients in the right order.

[She is greatly simplifying them.]

Of course I will need a space big enough to house the shop. Does anyone know of a place that might be suitable?

Furthermore, are there any job openings? I would prefer something in a library, but I'm not too picky. [All things considered, she would rather fill her day with work than sit around and worry about her friends and family.]

Thanks for contacting me. Yeah, I'm totally open, though I'm afraid you missed the first meeting. A couple of ideas for projects were tossed around, which I'd be happy to share in-depth.

I told Helios that it might be productive to teach defensive Magic at the meetings. Even if it's something someone already knows, it never hurts to keep in practice.

It's fine, it wasn't a very good turnout. Something to do with the wacky hijinks in the village that week, I think.

Well, it's an interesting thought, but unfortunately, not much of the magic is universal. My magic works totally differently from yours, so you couldn't teach me your defensive spells or vice-versa.

But if we could maybe work on developing more universally-compatible spells, or even compile a list of defensive magic that theoretically anybody could access, that would definitely be worthwhile.

I wouldn't have a problem learning about other Magic. Even if I couldn't perform it myself, at least I would have an idea how it works. After all, theory is the basis of everything.

Then, with those various theories, we might be able to develop universally-compatible spells. But, even without those, there's nothing stopping us [aside from the power drain] casting defensive spells and ensuring we don't become rusty with our skills.

I wouldn't mind at all! I spent the majority of my time at Hogwarts in the Library. [Except when she was on missions with Harry and Ron.]

When do you need the help?

[ A smile on his end as he reads that. He figures Hogwart's library was similar to his own in the Academy. Shelves upon shelves of books to be read and that scent you always got from a new freshly bound book compared to an older one that's seen many hands across its pages. ]

Whenever you have time, really. It's, um, not too much to do. Just sorting and re-shelving. Things like that.

[Only a fellow book lover would notice those differences. Hermione prefers old books to new books because of their history. Hogwarts was chock full of said books, which was why she was checking out several every week.]

Absolutely! Were you able to locate your staff after your arrival?

Yes, but only just recently! I heard Luceti has a lot of people who can use magic in it, so I was really worried someone else might've taken it. It's a good thing the other magic users here are nice enough to not take other people's things like that.

I would never take something that belonged to someone else. Besides, aren't most Magical objects attuned to their owner? Not just anyone could pick up your staff and use it easily. The same holds true for my wand.

I am a practitioner of Shinto spiritual arts, and to answer your question I do use various implements to channel my powers. Flames, and ofuda scrolls, as well as listening to the spirits. Recently I have begun speaking to Eferin and Nala, two of the Filial spirits present in Luceti.

I'm all ears. [Understandable, though, for Hermione, having faith in her Magic is important. Not that she doesn't believe in religious/moral values. They just have little to no bearing on how she exercises her Magic.]

Yes, I am. [Her smile can probably be heard in her voice.] For six years, I attended a school that taught Witches and Wizards their crafts.

I practice Magic Law. It's mostly used for dealing with spirits, and you need artifacts (magic-enchanted items) to use it.

Also, a magic shop sounds wonderful. It'd be great to see all sorts of magical items in one place.

That was my thinking exactly and if there is something I could keep in stock for you, I wouldn't mind setting space aside for it.

What sort of artifacts do you use the most?

My artifacts of choice are wards. They're little rectangle-shaped papers with symbols near the top. I haven't had to use them all that much but I like to have them just in case.

If you don't mind my asking, what kind of potions do you make? We do have that kind of stuff back home, I don't usually get to see that side of the Magic Law community. The artificers are pretty secretive.

[And then I lament that Buffy spells ingredients end up weird and vague often. So she hums, and then starts to pen down things on the book in written form. Some powers, a lot of herbs, some other things. This will be offscreen, and as she does this (flipping pages in some books as she goes) she continues to speak]
