I haven't the slightest clue why I was brought to...? [What does she even call this place? A forest? A paradise? She doesn't feel entirely settled with calling her new surroundings the latter. Something is definitely off. After all, hadn't she been in the Headmaster's office at Hogwarts a moment ago?

Crossing her arms over her chest, she presses her lips together, a determined glint in her eyes.]

My name is Hermione Granger and I know for a fact that I did not choose to come here. Nor did I choose to have wings fastened onto my back.

[That part is quite curious. Bringing her somewhere against her will is one thing, but attaching wings to her back without her realizing it is another. She wonders if she had been rendered unconscious for awhile.]

Is there any way to rid myself of them? They are...cumbersome. [Not to mention they make her feel like a walking target.

She lowers her voice and adds in an undertone:] It's a shame Luna didn't come with me. This seems like something out of The Quibbler.

[Rolling her shoulders to relieve some tension, she exhales.]

I have a number of questions for anyone who has the time. I've tried to speak to the villagers, but they're not terribly... [animate] ...helpful. I wonder if they're under some spell?

[Hermione shakes her head and shifts from foot to foot.]

I would sincerely appreciate any aid. Thank you.

...yes, that is more disturbing. [Either way, they would be sore.] Doing those things to us while we were unaware is the perfect way to demonstrate their power over us. [Now she sounds disgusted instead of disturbed.] I suppose it is a small taste of what they could do to us in their "experiments".

Most people don't freak out about the experiments every time they happen but so far they've forced me to forget an entire weekend, fall in love with someone I only barely get along with, actually care about romance for a couple of days, turn into a little kid, and randomly teleport into peoples' bedrooms. The wings are just a constant reminder in case we forget in between.

Their actions aren't random in the least. [Something she will be sure to share with Pascal.] Did they experiment on you as a punishment? Do you think they knew about your plans to send them a message?

[She grimaces and sighs.] It's almost like they're trying to be purposefully childish. I can't imagine what they learned from those so-called experiments.

No, they just do it to everyone on occasion. Different things happen and you don't even realize it's happening until it's over most of the time. Personally I hope they know they're going to get a message soon. There's no way that they're learning anything useful from those types of experiments, even if they say that they're trying to help us. Those experiments don't have to do with anything.

I wonder if the experiments are a cover-up? You said you don't know what's happening most of the time until it's over, so what if they are using that time to do something else? Something that isn't immediately visible or noticeable?

[This is becoming scarier by the moment.]

I don't like these Malnosso one bit.

It is helpful. It is also nice that everything here is free. It helps with cooking and weapons.

Another big possibility. It's kind of hard to tell and so far the only way we know of into their area is to get kidnapped. [ Officially anyway. Yuri's working on something but she needs the technology for it first and she's definitely not going to mention that to someone she's just met. Or over the journals. ]

[Luke smiles and nods. Its the usual reaction someone has to having been faced with something they thought fictional.]

Is it? I'm a little more used to it than most I suppose.

[As they walk, Luke points out various buildings, most notably the clothing shop]

That's our destination, where you can find some clothing you'll find more appropriate. The New Feather clothing is alright now, but its good that you didn't arrive in winter.

Muggle? [He has no idea what that means. But he'll put it aside if she mentions nothing of it.] Nevermind. Yes that is correct. The ones who are running Luceti are a group of scientists called The Malnosso. They seem to have some kind of agenda that involves experimenting on us, but that agenda is muddy and unclear. They don't make it a habit of speaking to us, even if you ask for them over this book. Unsurprising really.

Fine by me! I'll be waitin' until you're all comfy cozy, then we can go out and explore all the cool stuff they have here.

Catch you later Hermione! [Her face screws up into a smile before she flips the journal shut.]

Non-Magical person. [She has been around Wizards for too long.] I can't imagine what they are gaining out of these experiments. They seem like nothing more than a sick game to me.

[Hermione pauses and shifts. Her voice is softer and more fatigued when she speaks again.]

From what I've heard, they're no different from the corrupt government in my world.

And, if you're kidnapped, you will likely lose your memories or become so engrossed in what is being done to you that you don't remember.

[There's a silent "ugh" at the end of that sentence.]

I have learned a variety of things. That we are all from different worlds, trapped in this village within the barrier. The Malnosso are the ones who keep us trapped here and they like to experiment on us, but they are not apparently the culprits behind bringing us to this foreign world. Additionally, the wings keep us alive in some way and must be treated with care.

I see. [Magic, huh? So even other worlds had people who could special abilities and people who couldn't.] A sick game indeed. But there is no way of escaping as of now and, even if we could get away, we're still stranded on another world.

["Corrupt government"? A thing wry smile finds its way onto his expression.]

All governments are corrupt in some way. This place is no different indeed.

Is it possible that the wings act as translators? Which is how we can understand one another even if we speak different languages? [Don't mind her, she's just taking mental notes.]

[Hermione quickly turns it off and hands it back to him. She doesn't want to be responsible for accidental damage and with everything that has already happened, she doesn't want to take any chances.]

Well, yes, you would be.

[She peeks inside of the clothing shop, frowning.]

This is what they give new arrivals in the winter as well? [With all she has learned about the Malnosso, she isn't surprised.] That's the perfect recipe for Pneumonia, particularly if the person happens to be wet for some reason.

It helps with surviving period, I imagine.

I almost wish I didn't.

Another world would be simple enough to understand, I would think. But this is another dimension, so even if we found our worlds, they might be completely different from what we know.

[Stranded covers it concisely.]

A corrupt government can be fixed. It just takes time and immense support.

It does. And it's better than not getting anything at all.

I'm really not sure why they give us everything, but I will not question it.

It's better than finding out on accident, right?

They aren't too nice, but there are enough doctors and healers that it's rarely a real problem.

[Luke holds open the door and steps inside]
